Sold Out
Migration is dedicated to crafting wines from the finest cool-climate winegrowing regions highlighting lush fruit, bright acidity and impeccably balanced oak. Since 1982, Charles Heintz Vineyard in Green Valley has emerged as a legendary site for world-class Chardonnay. Located atop the second ridge inland from the Pacific at an elevation of 900 feet, Heintz is a warmer vineyard in a very cool winegrowing region. This unique combination creates a gracefully balanced wine that combines the richness and intensity of perfectly ripened old vine fruit with the structure and acidity of great Sonoma Coast winegrowing.

Winemaker Notes
In 2019, the windswept vines rows of the famed Charles Heintz Vineyard produced a dazzling Chardonnay, with alluring layers of lemon custard, honeysuckle and sweet melon, as well as hints of graham cracker and baking spices. On the palate, a beam of bright acidity adds poise and tension to the lush fruit, while drawing the wine to a supple and lingering finish.
Production
2019 was an amazing year for cool-climate varietals. With plentiful spring rains, the growing season got off to a great start, especially for our dry-farmed Running Creek Estate. The season continued to provide ideal conditions, with cooler spring weather, moderate summer temperatures, and warm days in the runup to harvest. We picked each vineyard exactly when we wished, resulting in bright, crisp Chardonnays with pure, elegantly delineated flavors and vibrant and concentrated Pinot Noirs with silky, refined tannins.
